Act for Peace began in 1948 with the sending of food and provisions to help refugees and displaced people had suffered during World War II.
Today, there are more refugees, asylum seekers and displaced people worldwide – more than 80 million people forced to flee their homes to escape conflict and disaster.
Act For Peace is committed to achieving safety, justice and dignity for threatened communities in partnership with other passionate groups across the globe. It delivers lifesaving aid and supports long-term development projects that help communities tackle their own problems – whether that's giving girls a brighter future through education, helping farmers grow enough to eat or supporting refugees to return home safely after a conflict has ended.
