Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation raises funds for Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia which was founded by Dr Catherine Hamlin. In Ethiopia and poor rural areas, a woman dies every two minutes due to preventable childbirth related complications like obstetric fistula. Women with obstetric fistula are often outcasted, their families and communities suffer as well.

For more than six decades Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia has provided holistic treatment of women with obstetric fistula injuries – both emotional and physical – and now runs a prevention program of training and deploying midwives to rural areas.

As a network of over 550 staff servicing hospitals, a rehabilitation centre, the Hamlin College of Midwives and midwifery clinics, it is a leader in the fight to eradicate obstetric fistula, providing care that empowers women and secures their health and well-being.
